In case you missed our post back in October, Black Cloud Battalion's own Mr. Totem painted a mural for our friend and local ATLien's RWB build. Just this past weekend, the video of the build dropped and you can see Mr. Totem's work in its full glory. It even includes an interview with him talking about it. It's a dope video all around so definitely worth your time.
We recently finished up these custom LED lights for a FD RX-7. This particular one was actually in the Black Cloud family in the past so working on it felt a little bit like being a time machine. Fortunately it is now in the hands of some good guys who are doing a lot of good work on it. We were happy to help out with these lights. The diffused "C" shape acts as running, brake, and turn signal. Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice.
It seems like not that long ago when the first Rauh-Welt Begriff Porshe made its online debut. We definitely took notice as some of the aesthetic cues were right up our alley. The oversized flares, big lip wheels, and a no-fucks-given attitude. Even the name Rauh-Welt ("Rough World") implies a gritty perspective that flies in the face of trailer queens. They may look pretty but they are meant to be driven on real roads.
With that in mind, it's no surprise that we got excited when a local friend of Black Cloud announced he was to be the owner of Atlanta RWB #3. Since an RWB build itself is an event, he approached Black Cloud's Mr. Totem about doing a mural to really set it off.
Of course, Totem never fails to deliver and this time was no exception. From the matching colors, portrait of Nakai-san, and all the details specific to the build made a one-of-a-kind piece that will last as long as the 993.
Nakai-san always looks for inspiration during the build when naming each RWB. In this case, he ended up naming the car "Shingen" after a Japanese Lord who ruled over an area in Japan with special significance to Totem.
The build was a success in every way. Some drinks were taken, friendships made, and the car speaks for itself. We have to give big thanks to Allen for inviting us to be a part of the build and to Nakai-san for continuing to inspire. When we look at the RWB sign now hanging in our HQ, the good memories will come right back.
Here at Black Cloud, we make sure the kids ride as fly as the big boys. Kid Sinah has a Z to match his dad's so we decided to hook him up with some LED headlights and taillights.
Happy Memorial Day. While you are relaxing, we're still working over here. Nearly completed the CAD design for the LouZfer tails. The reverse light on the left will be high power LEDs and the brake/turn is two rows of 9 LEDs in the middle. The turns will be sequential. Next step is injection molding.
Our friend George asked us to supply him with some classic race striping for his clean 510. How could we say no?
Things have been busy as always here at Black Cloud but we are still moving forward on the LouZfer LED tail lights for the 240z. You can see the scans of the stock tails we are using to create the new housings and lenses. These will be a complete plug and play replacement for the stock turns so everything is being built from the ground up. Thanks again for all the interest and we will keep you updated as things progress.
